Visual testing (VT)

Any non-destructive testing (NDT) method begins with Visual method (VT), which is primarily based on vision (organoleptic capability). The control object is tested in visible spectrum using both basic and high-tech equipment.

Scope of visual control is an inspection of parts and components, both removed and directly in the use.

Advantages of this method:

• opportunity/ability to inspect large surfaces of different materials and different shapes;
• effective control in hard-to-reach locations (for relatively large defects or using high-end equipment);
• cost - no consumables during testing;
• good method performance.
